    What customers say

In their own words, from Google.

Sol Exterior Specialists did an outstanding job cleaning my solar panels! Logan and his dad were professional, friendly, and thorough from start to finish. The before - and - after photos speak for themselves; the transformation was dramatic. My panels look incredibly clean and bright, and the difference is easy to see.

What impressed me most was their attention to detail and genuine pride in their work. As a family-owned business, they provided the kind of personal service and care that is hard to find. Their pricing was reasonable, the quality exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you want reliable, meticulous service from a team that truly cares, I highly recommend Sol Exterior Specialists!

    Why I started Sol

You spent thousands on solar panels to cut your power bill. But dust, pollen and bird droppings build up on your panels all year, and rain doesn't wash it all away. I started Sol to help you get back the energy you already paid for.

    Is it worth the price?

The questions people ask before they book, answered straight.

$150 for up to 20 panels.

$150 covers up to 20 panels on a 1 story home ($200 on 2 stories), and each panel past 20 is $5. Two visits a year is $300, or $285 with Valley Shield taking 10% off the second visit. That works out to about $24 a month.

Your own price comes from the price box at the top of the page.

See the result on your own roof.

Your solar app already shows daily production. Note a clear day before your visit and a clear day after. We don't promise a number up front, because every roof is different. You will see yours.

Take your time. Here is what to expect.

About 90 percent of Fresno's yearly rain falls from November through April. Only about a tenth falls from May to October, so there's little rain to rinse the glass. Pollen that stays on can cut output even after a rain. Whenever you decide, we're here.

    Wet panels and live wiring.

One panel maker, First Solar, warns that cracked or wet modules are a shock hazard and that cleaning should be done by trained people. We do the roof work and the wet work, so you don't climb a ladder. Sol is insured.

You approve your estimate at least 48 hours before the job. California gives you 3 business days after you approve to cancel, or 5 if you're 65 or older. After that, cancelling is free with 24 hours' notice. You pay after the job. If we miss a spot, we come back within 7 days for free.

Why panels need a wash here

Short answers, each with its source.

Rain alone doesn't finish the job.

In a study of five solar plants in North Carolina, rain washed off some pollen but didn't bring output back to earlier levels. At peak pollen season, efficiency dropped by as much as 15 percent.

Clean while the glass is cool.

REC's cleaning guide says to clean early in the day, before panels heat up, with water at outdoor temperature. It prefers deionized water and says high-pressure hoses are not permitted on its panels.

Every roof is different, so we don't promise a set gain in output. Your solar app is the best place to see your own before and after numbers.

    Valley Shield

Every service after your first is 10% off.

Book your next visit within 7 months and the 10% applies to any Sol service. That's $15 off a $150 visit and $20 off a $200 visit. You still pay after each visit. Plans of 2, 3 or 4 cleanings a year take 10%, 15% or 20% off. See the plans.

    • After $2,000 cash in a calendar year, the rest comes as credit on your own Sol cleanings.

    Short answers

    Price

How is my price worked out?

We add up the services, apply the $150 minimum, take off any percent discounts, take off $25 if it's your first booking, then add travel. Travel is never discounted.

What if my panels don't need cleaning yet?

We'll tell you. Your solar app is the best place to see how your own panels are doing, and a visit is only worth booking when it helps you.

What if I have more or fewer panels than I entered?

We count your panels on site, so your invoice matches what we actually clean.

    Is there a travel fee?

Only past 15 miles one way from Harlan Ranch. Miles 15 to 30 are $2 each, 30 to 45 are $3.50, and past 45 are $4.50. The chart under Example prices shows a worked example.

    How do referrals work?

Send us someone: share your link from the referral page, text us their name and number, or have them give your name when they book. The address must be new to Sol, and each address counts once. We thank you $15 for a home, $30 for a business, $50 for a property manager: in cash within 7 days, or the same amount off your own Sol invoice, your choice. The thank-you is earned only after their job is completed and paid. Anyone can refer. After $2,000 cash in a calendar year, the rest comes as credit on your own Sol cleanings. We check every referral against our records.

Does the $25 offer combine with other discounts?

It doesn't combine with a Valley Shield plan discount.

    Booking

    Which days can you come?

Any day of the week. You pick a weekday, not a date, and we text you the exact date. Sunday and Monday from 7 am to 3 pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 7 am to 12 pm. We text you to confirm your day.

What happens after I send my price?

We text you to confirm your price and your day, then send your estimate to approve at least 48 hours before the job. California gives you 3 business days to cancel after you approve (5 if you're 65 or older), so your first visit is booked after that.

Do you need anything from me?

An outdoor water tap we can connect to. We bring our own filtration.

    Changes and touch-ups

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

It's free with 24 hours' notice. Later than that, the fee is $50. If weather makes it unsafe, we reschedule for free.

What if you miss a spot?

Tell us within 7 days and we come back and fix it for free. That covers missed spots, not new dust, pollen, bird droppings or rain.

    Payment and trust

    How do I pay?

After the job, by card on the invoice we send you, or cash.

    Are you insured?

Yes. Sol Exterior Specialists is an insured business.

    Do you clean businesses too?

    Yes. See commercial cleaning.
